SUBJECT: Call for Proposals 2008 Milwaukee Fatherhood Summit
The Milwaukee Fatherhood Initiative will host the Third Annual Milwaukee Fatherhood Summit, “Beyond the 2700: Building Fathers of Worth and Greatness,” October 10-12, 2008, at the Destiny Youth Plaza in Milwaukee Wisconsin.
We are currently seeking proposals for breakout sessions of no more than ninety minutes. Workshop sessions should promote father responsibility by focusing on fathers and men in relationship to children and family.
Examples of sessions of interest may include Fatherhood/Male Parenting, Men’s Health Issues, Workforce Development, Cross Cultural Issues of Fathering, Co-Parenting while living Apart, Child Support Survival Skills, Education and Literacy, and Parenting after Divorce, Mental Health Programs and Corrections/Re-Entry and Faith-based Community Support Networks.

Hard copies should be faxed to 414-286-0776. For more information regarding your session proposal, please refer to the Session Proposal Information Sheet. Once again please be mindful the deadline for submitting your session proposal is July 1, 2008.
Benefits to Presenters: All presenters and panelists are provided with a summit registration packet and meals. Room accommodations MAY BE AVAILABLE upon request for speakers from outside a 100 mile radius of the conference locations for a stay of one night only. All presenters will gain visibility and recognition of their expertise in the conference brochure, on the website, in the program, and in other promotional materials. Please note: No fees or honorarium are available for payment to presenters for breakout sessions.
Proposal Evaluation: The program committee will evaluate proposals for relevance to the summit theme, and ability to fulfill the audience and agenda needs. The program and summit planning committees reserve the right to place speakers and panelists in compatible sessions and combine session proposals when appropriate. All those who submit proposals will be notified of their proposal status by August 1, 2008.
Submission Guidelines: Please submit your submission online at Milwaukeefatherhood.com or fax to the attention of Curtis Marshall, Program Chairperson at 414-286-0776. Submissions must include:
• Speaker’s information: name, title, organization, mailing address, phone, and email (please include this information for all primary presenters, including all panel members if applicable.
• Format: a) panel presentation, b) interactive session, c) group discussion, or d) Other (please describe).
