Terence C. Ray, Director of the Fatherhood Initiative, has a long and varied career in public policy, fostering fatherhood issues and community activism.

He served as congressional aide to U.S. Congressman Thomas M. Barrett for more than five years, legislative assistant to State Representative G. Spencer Coggs and former Senator Gary R. George, and since 1991, he also held the position of Internal Vice President with 100 Black Men of Greater Milwaukee. Inc. for more than ten years.

In addition to his experience in the political arena, over the years Ray has pursued his passion and received national credentials as a Nurturing Father.

He is a National Trainer/Consultant for the Nurturing Fathers' Program and a trainer of the National Fatherhood Initiative's 24/7 Dad Program.

As a National Trainer/Consultant, Terence provides training, engages in public speaking and serves as a consultant on successful program fatherhood implementation throughout the country.

In recent years he has worked within the prison system at the Fox Lake Correctional Institution, the Felmers O. Chaney Correctional Center, the Marshall E. Sherrer Correctional Center and the Ethan Allen School for Adolescent Male Offenders, to help young and older dads become better fathers.

Terence has spearheaded initiatives to support local, state and national efforts to mobilize father-supporting programs, services and resources.

A passionate dad, with two daughters of his own, Terence’s extensive political affiliations has enabled him to effectively influence legislation on behalf of children and families.
